Types of Dentures

If you have lost all your teeth in one or both jaws, complete dentures not only restore the aesthetics of your smile but also significantly improve your chewing ability, and enhance your overall ability to eat and speak more naturally.

For those missing a few teeth, partial dentures act as a bridge, which prevents your remaining teeth from shifting to maintain the natural structure of your face and jaw.

We provide this solution right after tooth extraction, to ensure you won’t have to face the world without your smile as you heal.

A state-of-the-art option that offers unparalleled stability, these dentures are anchored directly to your jawbone, closely mimicking the feel and function of natural teeth.

Custom Dentures are all about giving you the perfect fit and look. We make sure that they match your jaw’s shape, color, bite, and size of the teeth. These are ideal if you’ve had trouble with dentures fitting right in the past or if you want your new teeth to look as natural as possible.

Important Note!

As your dentist, I need to tell you that not everyone is a good candidate for dentures. If you have significant bone loss in your jaw, certain ongoing health issues, or sensitivity to denture materials, we might need to consider alternative solutions for your oral health needs. Visit us for a more comprehensive dental checkup and to identify what best suits you.

Healing Process and Time!

  • Right Away Dentures (Immediate Dentures): You may experience quicker adjustment times but expect some gum shrinkage and bone remodeling that will necessitate adjustments.
  • Conventional Full Dentures: After tooth extraction, the healing process can take several months, during which your gums and bone will heal and reshape before denture fitting.
  • Partial Dentures: Less adjustment time compared to full dentures, with some initial discomfort as you get used to them.
  • Implant-Supported Dentures: They have the longest adjustment period, often several months because the implants need to fuse with your jawbone. However, they are the most stable and offer the most natural feel.

How to Take Care of Your False Teeth?

  • Soaking: Dentures should be soaked overnight in a special soaking solution to help maintain their shape and remove bacteria.
  • Cleaning: Gently brush them every day with a soft brush or a cleaner (non-abrasive) made just for dentures.
  • Handling: Dentures can break if you drop them, so handle them carefully, and wash them with clean water to remove food particles after eating.

Discomforts and Issues you may Face!

  • Initial Discomfort: It’s common to experience some soreness and increased saliva flow. These issues typically improve within a few weeks.
  • Ongoing Care: To ensure your dentures continue to fit well and remain comfortable, regular dental check-ups are essential. If you experience ongoing pain, it may be time for a denture adjustment or reline.

How to Live with Them?

  • Diet: Start with soft foods by cutting them into small pieces, and gradually start eating harder foods as you get used to your dentures.
  • Speaking: Practice speaking and reading out loud to get used to them faster.
  • Oral Hygiene: Brush your gums, tongue, and the roof of your mouth every morning before you put in your dentures.

Benefits of Dentures

  • Improved Appearance: They help restore your smile and facial structure, and boost your confidence and self-esteem. They also support the structure of your mouth by preventing remaining teeth from shifting and deteriorating oral health.
  • Enhanced Speech: Missing teeth can affect how you speak. Dentures can help improve your pronunciation and clarity of speech.
  • Easy Eating: Dentures enable you to chew food more effectively, which means you can enjoy more types of food.
  • Cost-Effective: Compared to other dental restoration options like implants, dentures are generally more affordable.
  • Non-Invasive procedure: Getting dentures is less invasive than surgical options, with no surgery required for standard types.

I did Hijama (wet cupping) with Dr Ebtisam Kotkat. I was initially nervous about the treatment, however once I started I could feel the difference. She also gave me an amazing massage and got rid of the knots in my neck. After the treatment, I felt like a new person - refreshed and totally relaxed. I would highly recommend a treatment with Dr Kotkat.

Frequently Asked Question

Our pricing for a single-tooth denture starts at 470 AED and can go up to 6000 AED, depending on the type of denture you select and the number of teeth needed.

Dentures can last up to 5-7 years if you adhere to the best practices for cleaning and maintenance.

Yes, you can eat with dentures. It might take a little time to get used to them, but with practice, you’ll be able to eat many of the foods you enjoy. It’s often recommended to start with softer foods, cut them into small pieces to chew slowly using both sides of your mouth, and keep the dentures stable. As you adjust, you can gradually introduce more harder foods into your diet.

False teeth, or dentures, are not permanent. They are removable tooth devices designed to replace missing teeth and can be taken out and put back into your mouth. While some denture types, like implant-supported dentures, offer a more stable and secure fit, they still require maintenance and may need to be replaced every 5 to 7 years due to changes in your mouth’s shape.

Yes, dental implants are often considered a better alternative to traditional dentures for many patients. Implants provide a more stable and permanent solution to tooth loss.

Yes, you can wear dentures all day, but it’s crucial to let your gums and mouth rest. Be sure to take your dentures out at night before you go to sleep. Giving your mouth this nightly break is key to keeping your oral health in good shape, helping your gums recover, breathe, and reducing chances of irritation, infections, and discomfort.

Yes, false teeth, or dentures, can definitely look natural. Advances in dental technology and materials have made it possible for dentures to closely mimic the appearance of natural teeth and gums.

Yes, dentures can improve the appearance of your face. When teeth are missing, facial muscles can sag, making you look older. Dentures help fill out the appearance of your face and profile, support the facial structure, and improve the look of sagging muscles around the mouth and cheeks.
